School of Disappearance: Somatic Experiments and Trainings

Disappearance
Thank you to  Andrew Marcus, dancer, choreographer, and visual artist, for a fascinating conversation about The School of Disappearance: Somatic Experiments and Trainings.

Disappearance is an evolving set of strategies by which the boundaries between artistic expression and ordinary life are first examined, and secondly, dissolved – an inquiry beyond the art object, into the beautiful, the ephemeral, and the sublime.

Andrew, who studied visual arts at Cooper Union School of Arts in New York City and holds an MFA in Dance, has performed and taught extensively in New York and Europe. He now resides in Boulder, Colorado. Check out his recent “outside the frame” visual art experiment Chapel For the Contemplation of Nothing in Particular

In case you missed the show, here’s the recording

Mind & Body in Motion with host Susan Chandler airs on internet radio station KZKOradio.com Tuesdays from 4 to 4:30 pm MT.
